nonfarm businesses in Boundary County and 10 other counties in
Idaho, as well as neighboring counties in Montana, Utah,

The Bonners Ferry Police Department is proud to announce the
Boundary County Law Enforcement Explorer Post #190 competed
against area law enforcement agencies in Mt. Hall School’s
“Battle of the Badges” benefit chili cook off, held last
Saturday, November 15 at Mt. Hall Elementary School. |

year old Kila, Montana man for alleged possession for sale of a
controlled substance, following an early morning traffic stop by

Kramer was recently elected as the First Vice-Commander of Idaho

with Boundary County School District 101 administrators, have
identified a 12 year old suspect in last week's November 12 bomb
threat at Boundary County Middle School. |

located after spending night in sub-freezing temperatures:

Office received a call at 11:00 p.m. regarding two missing
hunters. |

Preparations underway for 2014 Festival of Trees:
When the first winter winds sweep down Clifty Mountain from the
east, and down Roman Nose from the west, forming ghostly
contorting figures of tiny pieces of ice and swirling white
powdered snow, the inhabitants of Boundary County, wearing snug
woolen hats pulled down over their ears and thick gloves
encasing each finger, huddle inside of their heavy winter coats
and dream of the Festival of Trees. |

"Night for the Museum" fundraiser: The fourth
annual "Night for the Museum" fundraiser was held at the Museum
on October 25, and was enjoyed by a sold-out crowd of nearly
100. This event has become the major public fundraising event
for the Boundary County Museum, and this year’s dinner has
proven to be by far the most successful. |

National Guard helicopter crashes near Boise: At
approximately 7:00 p.m. (Mountain Time) yesterday evening on
November 6, an Idaho Army National Guard AH-64D Apache
helicopter with two pilots aboard crashed during a training
mission. The crash scene is approximately 2 miles south of the
Boise Airport. |

County emergency crews respond to gunshot injury in Highland
Flats area: Boundary County emergency services
responded yesterday, November 5, to a call to assist a man with
a gunshot wound in the area of the Highland Flats Snowmobile
Park. It was thought this may have been related to a hunting
accident. |

water levels at Boundary Creek-Smith Creek Wildlife Management
Area: Visitors to the Boundary Creek-Smith Creek
Wildlife Management Area (WMA) near Bonners Ferry have noticed
that water levels across the WMA are low this year. The lower
than normal water level is making trapping and waterfowl hunting
very difficult. |

Idaho wolf trapping Certification Course scheduled:
A wolf trapping certification course has been scheduled for
North Idaho. Successful completion of such a class is required
to be able to purchase wolf trapping tags. |

trapper certification class scheduled in North Idaho:
If you are interested in trapping, a class has been set up to be
held in Coeur d'Alene in a couple of weeks. Idaho rules require
a Wolf Trapper Certification class be completed and passed
before a person can purchase wolf trapping tags. |

Fish and Game reminds hunters of rules for hunting private land:
Deer rifle seasons opened in mid-October in much of Idaho. Fish
and Game is receiving a few calls from landowners upset about
people hunting on their private land without permission. |

BFHS Volleyball team competes at State Tournament:
The Bonners Ferry Badger Volleyball team earned their way to the
Idaho State Tournament by winning both the regular season
Intermountain League championship and first place in the
District Tournament. |

BFHS Cross Country competes at Idaho State Cross Country Meet:
The Bonners Ferry Boys' team finished in 8th place at the Idaho
State Cross Country meet, completed earlier today at the three
mile course around the lake at Eagle Island State Park in Eagle,
Idaho. |
