Business forum will help harness tech |

Idaho, Idaho TechConnect and Jobs Plus will
present a business development forum from 4 to 7
p.m., Wednesday, October 19, at the Jacklin
Science and Technology Center, University of
Idaho Research Park, 721 Lochsa St., Post Falls,
Idaho. The event is open to entrepreneurs and innovators looking for fresh approaches to establishing or growing their enterprises. The forum will provide concise information that clarifies how Idaho businesses, startups and entrepreneurs can access available technologies and expertise. Steven McMaster, director of technology deployment from INL, will provide a short presentation on the lab's technology deployment, economic development and small business programs. Gene Merrell, chief technology transfer officer from the University of Idaho, will discuss the tech transfer process and technologies under development at the university. Charles Buck, U-Idaho northern Idaho center executive officer, will describe the new Laboratory for Applied Science Research (LASR), a university-affiliated, not-for-profit entity, designed to directly enable corporate research and development projects with university expertise and infrastructure. Hank Artis, vice president of business development for Idaho TechConnect, will provide more information about business development resources available to established businesses and start-ups. The forum will include a hosted reception, as well as tours of the Jacklin Science and Technology Center. The forum is free and open to the public. |
