October 28, 2011 |
At
11 a.m. Saturday, December 17, "The Village of
Bonners Ferry" will dedicate a live Christmas
tree to the memory of life-long resident Dick
Kelson, who died at the age of 77 May 16, 2011,
while tending his nursery on Deep Creek Loop.
The dedication will coincide with activities
being organized as part of the Village of
Bonners Ferry's "Gingerbread
Winter Village" celebration, in
remembrance of a quiet but stalwart man who
contributed much to the community he loved.
Dick was born in Bonners Ferry September 2,
1933, and except for stints at school and
serving in the U.S. Navy, he spent most of his
life in Bonners Ferry and Porthill.
The dedication ceremony will take place in front
of the Bonners Ferry Visitor's Center, and
everyone who knew him is encouraged to attend. |
