Never said people don't pay for services

After reading the latest issue of the
Flatlander, I feel I need to respond to the
assertion that I think our neighbors in the
annexation area do not pay for “services."
This is incorrect.
I know of no one in Boundary County that
receives municipal services at no charge and
take issue with anyone who would suggest that I
think otherwise.
The one exception that I’m aware of is the
recycling stations at the Middle School and at
the parking lot behind the Panhandle Health
District. These are facilities that the City has
put in place on a trial basis. These are
currently being funded through the generosity of
Ron Fredrickson and the Bonners Ferry Garage
Company.
I am honored to be a member of the Bonners Ferry
City Council, but it is not always a “fun” job.
It is not always easy to make decisions that
alienate friends, family or neighbors; but I
will continue to base these decisions on what I
believe to be in the best interest of the City
of Bonners Ferry and city residents. |
