Sharon Meadows wins a timely basket |
April 27, 2011 |
North
Bench resident Sharon Meadows was pronounced the
winner of the
Friends of the Restorium Easter basket
raffle, held April 23 at Akins Harvest Foods. It couldn't have gone to a better person, or at a better time. Sharon is a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer, and she's spent years volunteering her time helping Boundary County children, even as she faces challenges of her own. Facing recent large medical expenses, Sharon said she's appreciative of the items tucked into the bulging Easter basket, especially the $100 gift certificate for gas donated by the Bonners Ferry Cenex-Co-op (Zip Trip), another one for food, donated by Akins Harvest Foods, and a third for $50 in gardening supplies from Moose Valley Farms. Friends of the Restorium would like to thank everyone who took part in the raffle, both in donating items to fill Sharon's basket and in buying tickets to win it. All volunteers, 100% of the funds raised by Friends of the Restorium in this effort went to support the residents of the Boundary County Restorium. |
