Braving a
cool, misty day, nearly two dozen
Rotarians celebrated another successful
year at Twin Rivers Resort Friday, June
17. That's new president Wilma DeVore

On a cool and misty late Friday, June 17, 22
brave souls descended into the depths of the
Twin Rivers Resort for Rotary’s Annual End of
the Year party where good food is consumed, the
changing of the guard takes place, and Rotarians
are recognized for their accomplishments during
the past year.
Milling around the snack tables, the troops were
anticipating the highlight of the day...ARRIVAL
OF THE FOOD!
Ron had cooked up some smoked pork, fresh
vegetables, roasted potatoes, and fresh rolls
for sandwiches.
The outgoing Board of Directors was presented
with framed certificates of appreciation.
Rotarians were also recognized for their role in
serving Rotary’s mission of “Service Above Self”
– Clarence Jones for chairing the 2010 KRR,
Linda Alt and Greg Johnson for their work in
delivering the CommUNITY Breakfast and Silent
Auction event to be held again this year on
9/17, Becky Calderone for her work in chairing
both the 2010 and 2011 Yard Sales, Mark McInnes
for coordinating both the 2010 and 2011 WaCanId
Bike Rides, Lisa Holmes and Wilma DeVore for
co-chairing the Friendship Tour and for Lisa’s
work in preparing and distributing the food for
the exchange students dinner on June 1 and the
breakfast at the Wildlife Refuge June 2, Norm
Braatz for his work on scholarships and for the
dessert social, Dave McIntosh for serving the
Rotary Club as Youth Exchange Officer (see his
selection as 'Rotarian
of the Year'), and Ron Sukenik for his
inquiring mind, the preparation of the food for
the end of year dinner, for his “bird-dogging”
of so many of the activities of Rotary, and
especially for coordinating the SWISH 3-on-3
basketball tournament assumed by Rotary in 2011.
Wilma introduced the new Board of Directors and
handed out lapel pins for each of the officers
and committee chairs. She thanked the current
president and introduced her successor, Greg
Johnson, who will assume the presidential office
on July 1, 2012.
