How to run, walk, ride
or feed the Run for the Fallen
|
July 24, 2011 |
"I've had requests and inquiries about how to
register to run, walk, bike, horseback ride,
etc. in the Run for the Fallen event August 20,"
said Rhonda Vogl.
Opening ceremonies are at 7:45 a.m., at
Veteran's Memorial Park in Bonners Ferry, and
all you have to do to take part is show up.
Oh ... they'll all need a lot to eat, too.
While it's doubtful that there won't be
sufficient food at the post-run finish line
picnic, organizers would like a little assurance
that their call for help is being met.
They want tables laden with all the best our
community offers.
Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, relish, slaw.
Gut-wrenching, cholesterol laden, mouth waterin
g... slathered in sauce ... (sigh!) to stuff of
a more healthy nature; garden fresh fruits and
vegetables ... which amazingly often turn up
regularly in local kitchens, and make even
un-healthconscious folks say, "Hey! This is
good!"
It's all welcome, needed and appreciated!
While reality, by Boundary County standards,
leads most to think that organizers have nothing
to worry about, organizers, realistically
speaking, worry about everything.
It would be a kind gesture to send them
assurance that we have their back. To be nice
