4-H offers Friday program for kids |
August 4, 2011 |
How does a Boundary County parent reconcile a
five-day work week and a four-day school week? By enrolling kids in the Explore 4-H Afterschool Fun!" program, that's how! The program begins on Friday, September 9, and runs from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. every Friday during the school year. This year, kids will benefit from an expanded science program that includes Lego robots, GPS tracking and Wii Fit games. Health and fitness, arts and crafts and homework continuation are also regular program features. The program targets kids from grades kindergarten through sixth, but seventh graders through seniors are encouraged to donate time in the program as mentors to the younger students. Registration fees are based on a sliding scale. To find out more or to register, call Christina Powell at the Boundary County Extension office, (208) 267-3235. |
