More than four dozen Idaho employers will man
exhibits at the Hiring our Heroes Job Fair
November 9 in Meridian, and they have job
openings they want to fill. “We are honored to serve the many Idaho men, women and their families who made tremendous sacrifices on our behalf,” Idaho Department of Labor Director Roger B. Madsen said. “The Idaho soldiers planning to attend this event are highly trained and have the skills, professionalism and devotion needed to succeed in a very competitive labor market.” The free job fair runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott, 1789 S. Eagle Road. It is open to veterans, active duty military members, National Guard and Reserve members and their spouses. Participating employers must be committed to a policy of hiring veterans. Hiring experts say veterans offer employers many qualities including leadership, teamwork, performance under pressure, respect for procedures, integrity and an understanding of technology and globalization. The Idaho Department of Labor, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce and the Idaho chapter of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve are cosponsoring the job fair.
