Chamber launching new website |
December 23, 2011 |
Beginning January 1, the premier website of
Boundary County, that belonging to the Bonners
Ferry Chamber of Commerce, will shift from being
a dot.com to become a dot.org as the transition
is made from its old site to the new,
www.bonnersferrychamber.org.
While the old site, owned and maintained by Mike
Listman, Boundary Computer, served admirably,
the Chamber board decided earlier this year that
they needed a website of their own. Over six
months in the making,
www.bonnersferrychamber.org gives them both
ownership and control of the site, while giving
Chamber members the continued opportunity to
reach potential customers or clients from around
the world.
All Chamber members have their own page on the
site, and the ability to submit news of their
businesses from their own computer or by
contacting the Visitors Center, and everyone in
the community can also easily update the most
in-depth calendar of local events available
anywhere.
"The idea," said Chamber President Rhea
Verbanic, "was to develop a dynamic web site
owned and managed by the Chamber. The more our
members participate, the more dynamic and
interesting the site will be." |
