North Idaho schools slate spelling

Elementary students throughout the region are
gearing up to compete in the North Idaho
Regional Spelling Bee, which takes place
Saturday, March 17, at the Coeur d'Alene campus
of North Idaho College.
The winner there will earn an all-expense paid
trip to Washington, DC, in June, courtesty of
bee sponsor Hagadone Newspapers.
A total of 52 schools in 11 school districts,
including public, private and home school
students across the five north Idaho counties,
will take part in this year's bee, according to
coordinator Mindy Patterson, North Idaho
College.
Boundary County School District 101 will hold
its elementary school spelling bee beginning at
9 a.m.
Saturday, January 21, at the Bonners Ferry Free
Methodist Church. The middle school spelling
bees have already been held.
The North Idaho Home Educators Association bee
will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Grace Bible
Church, Coeur d'Alene.
