City water still safe
|
June 27, 2012 |
There are several rumors going around this
morning that the City of Bonners Ferry
water system has been compromised by the
flooding and that city water is unsafe to drink.
That's all they are, rumors.
"That's absolutely untrue," said city
administrator Stephen Boorman, "neither the
water system nor the sewer plant have been
affected, though we are having to pump some of
the sewage."
According to Boorman, there is no indication
that problems are imminent, even though the
river is expected to continue rising slightly.
"We are not expecting any problems at all," he
said. "I'd also like to assure everyone that we
do have plenty of water in the Myrtle Creek
drainage as well!" |
