Yet another flood watch issued
|
July 19, 2012 |
Just when it appeared that the worst local
flooding in decades might be receding, the
National Weather Service has issued a call to
brace once again.
According to the National Weather Service office
in Spokane, thunderstorms bringing up to half an
inch of rain are expected late tonight and into
Friday, prompting them to issue a flash flood
watch covering most of North Idaho and portions
of eastern Washington.
"These storms will be capable of producing
torrential rain," they warn.
The watch is in effect from late this evening
until Friday evening. Potential impacts of the
predicted rain include urban flooding, rapid
rises in small creeks and streams, potential
landslides and an increased debris flow in
creeks and rivers. |
