Free hiring fair for veterans set

The American Legion is sponsoring "Hiring Our
Heroes," a free hiring fair for military
veterans and their spouses September 29 in Coeur
d'Alene.
The free event welcomes both employers seeking
to fill positions and those who've served along
with spouses, who either need work or want a
better job, regardless of branch, whether active
duty, National Guard or Reserve.
Hiring Our Heroes launched an online partnership
with Military.com to compliment face-to-face
hiring fair efforts across the country. Veterans
can get help writing resumes and interview tips;
translating military skills, experience, and
training into related civilian careers, and
finding current lists of employment
opportunities with military-friendly employers.

While walk-ins are welcome, job seekers are
encouraged register on-line for free to

Local employers seeking to hire
veterans can also sign up

In addition to the American Legion,
other groups including the U.S. Chamber of
Commerce, the Department of Labor Veteran's
Employment and Training Service, the Idaho
Committee of the Employer Support of the Guard
and Reserve, Saint Vincent DePaul, the Idaho
Department of Labor and the U.S. Department of
Veterans Affairs are taking part.
The Hiring Our Heroes Coeur d'Alene hiring fair
takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday,
September 29, at the Kootenai County
Fairgrounds, 4056 North Government Way.
