High country storm watch issued |

The National Weather Service, Spokane, this
afternoon issued a winter storm watch in effect
above 4,000 feet from Sunday evening to late
Monday night, calling for significant snow and
high winds. The NWS is calling for seven to 14 inches of snow at higher elevations, starting out at 2,500 feet but rising to 4,000 feet, with snow increasing late Sunday night and lasting through Monday evening. Valley locations could see snow Monday morning, but it should turn to rain by mid-morning below 3,500 feet. In addition, winds gusting to 50 miles per hour can be expected on ridges, and winds in the valley, while less intense, could be strong enough to make power outages likely. |
