The Moscow Boys Choir is a careful blending of
heavenly soprano voices with the rich resonance
of bass, tenor and baritone sound that brings a
distinct Russian flavor to the choral
experience, and they're coming to Bonners Ferry
at 7 p.m. Sunday, December 16, at the Bonners
Ferry High School Becker Auditorium.
Founded in 1957, this choral ensemble is among
Russia's most prestigious all-boy choirs. Under
the direction of Mr. Leonid Baklushin, the boys
attend a special school which provides both
general education and musical training.
Being selected as a member of the touring
company of Moscow Boys Choir is no easy feat.
Hand-picked from over 400 students at their
school in Moscow, these highly talented
youngsters have the voices of angels and the
discipline to match their talents.
Moscow Boys Choir enjoys an international
reputation for excellence. The Choir has toured
many other countries including Japan, South
Korea, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium
and Holland. The many accomplishments of Moscow
Boys Choir are complemented by performances for
Heads of State and Royalty including:
Command performances for the British Royal
Family at Royal Albert Hall.
At the White House the Choir performed for
President Clinton, the First Family and their
friends at a private Holiday Gala in December of
1999 which included a private audience with the
President of the United States and the First
Family!
Numerous Performances with the Presidential
Orchestra at the Kremlin in Moscow.
The Gala Celebration for the 850th Anniversary
of the founding of the City of Moscow.
The choir was invited by the City of Moscow to
perform in a grand concert at Red Square for
International Children's Day with famous tenor
Andrea Bocelli.
Diverse Performances at the Olympic Hall in
Moscow and at the Moscow Conservatory with the
Moscow Symphony Orchestra.
They participated in the premier of Yuri
Grigorovich's ballet Spartacus at the Kremlin's
Palace of Congresses and have done many
performances at this prestigious venue.
The powerful sound of this all-male Choir
consists of seasonal music from around the world
as audiences are musically transported to
faraway places including Russia, Europe, the
Americas and more. The Choir showcases many
beloved Christmas classics as well as new and
vibrant pieces, many sung in their language of
origin. Also featured are favorites from
