Tax info for unemployed now on-line
|
January 23, 2013 |
Unemployment insurance claimants who need the
federal 1099-G tax information forms to complete
their 2012 tax returns can download the forms
directly from
www.labor.idaho.gov/iw.
The forms will also be mailed by Jan. 31 to the
current addresses on file for nearly 80,000
Idaho workers who received unemployment
insurance benefits in 2012.
The Idaho Department of Labor processed $298.8
million in state and federal unemployment
benefits during 2012 - less than half the totals
processed at the height of the recession in 2009
and 2010.
Telephone calls to the department have
intensified since the year began and are
creating significant delays with reaching a
consultant or claims specialist. On Tuesday, the
call volume was so heavy that it overloaded the
department’s telephone circuits, making it
difficult for anyone to get through.
Customers and claimants are asked to be patient
in attempting to reach the department and to use
the Labor website at
http://labor.idaho.gov,
if possible, as an alternative to the telephone. |
