At its regular meeting Tuesday, the Boundary
County School District 101 Board of Trustees
formally appointed Beverly Krichbaum, Moyie
Springs, to fill the vacancy in Zone 2 created
by the resignation of 11-year member Tim
Bertling.
"She has kids who are in the school and she did
really well in the interview," said trustee
David Brinkman. "I think shell fit in very
well."
Krichbaum's appointment runs until the end of
the vacated term July 1, and she will be one of
three seeking validation by voters at an
election to be held May 21. Also up for election
are Zone 1 trustee Gil Hagen and Zone 5 trustee
Lisa Dirks, both of whom plan to seek
reelection.
Those interested in
running can pick up candidate's packets at the
school district office, 6577 Main Street,
Bonners Ferry, through March 22. Prospective
candidates must live within the zone district
they're seeking to represent and obtain five
valid signatures from qualified electors within
the zone to qualify.
If you are uncertain about zone district
Boundaries, a map is available at the county
clerk's office, 6452 Kootenai Street, Bonners
Ferry.
