Mt. Hall, Naples Elementaries recognized

Two Boundary County elementary schools, Mount
Hall and Naples, were recognized earlier this
month by Idaho Superintendent of Public
Instruction Tom Luna, who may pay a personal
visit to see what's making them do so well.
On February 14, Jim Nash, who is principal at
both schools, received two letters from Luna
praising Mt. Hall and Naples as four-star
schools, ranking them among the best schools in
the state.
According to Luna, the state's new Five Star
rating system sets a high bar for school and
student achievement, using multiple criteria by
which to gauge success, with the identified goal
of seeing 60-percent of Idahoans earn a post
secondary degree or certificate.
"It all starts with students who graduate from
high school prepared to go on," he wrote. "The
State Department of Education celebrates your
success with you, and we would like to learn
more about the strategies you have used to
improve student achievement. Stories like yours
are an encouraging example to others who seek to
duplicate your success."
Luna went on to say that he'd love to visit both
schools to learn more and to congratulate Mr.
Nash, the teachers and the students personally. |
