Eagles' benefit set for one of their own |
March 26, 2013 |
The members of Bonners Ferry Eagles Lodge and
auxiliary is famous for their monthly Eagle's
breakfasts, held to raise funds for those in our
community who are in need. In April, their
breakfast will be held for one of their own. Club secretary Suzi Guy, has conquered serious health crises often in her 47 years, but she now suffers from a heart condition doctors have deemed terminal, and they give her only months to live. Her condition is so grave her cardiologist has taken her name off the list for a donor heart, saying she is now too weak to undergo the surgery that could save her life. Suzi has faced each obstacle she's faced with an uplifting smile, a positive attitude and an unwavering desire to help her community and the people in it, and even now, friends say, she's eager to get out of the hospital and come home. On Sunday, April 14, the Bonners Ferry Eagles Auxiliary will serve breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. at the lodge, 7159 Second Street, with all proceeds going to Suzi. Recommended donation for the hearty breakfast is $6, all of which will help with Suzi's care and medical expense. Those who'd like to donate more are certainly welcome, and those who can't attend but would like to help can mail donations to the Eagles Auxiliary, P.O. Box 695, Bonners Ferry, ID 83805. |
