It
is with great sadness that I report the End of
Watch for Sergeant Kevin Bennett of the Idaho
State Police, a 15 year veteran, close friend
and co-worker. 35 year old Kevin lost his battle
with cancer early Tuesday morning and leaves
behind his wife, Jolynn, and their three small
children.
Kevin was, and is, the definition of what it
means to be a father, friend and Trooper.
Sergeant Bennett joined the Idaho State Police
in 1998, and served as a road troop in Bonners
Ferry, Idaho, until being promoted to Sergeant
in District One in the fall of 2012.
Kevin had countless law enforcement accolades to
his name, too numerous to mention in this brief
notice.
Outside of work, Kevin was a devout husband,
father and Christian. Even in his illness, he
and his wife pushed forward on the process of
adopting a child from Haiti after serving there
on mission trips.
As you might imagine, the financial battles
Jolynn will face in the years to come will be
staggering.
A memorial fund has been established in Kevin’s
name and can be easily donated to through any
Wells Fargo Bank in the nation. Any amount will
help, even if you are willing to skip your daily
Starbucks once or twice.
Please call Wells Fargo, or stop by if you are
in an area with Wells Fargo and reference
“Bennett Memorial Fund.” |
