Flash flood watch issued

September 4, 2013 |
The National Weather Service has issued a flash
flood watch for the region, including Boundary
County, in effect from late tonight through
Friday afternoon.
A large low pressure system is expected to build
up through the area early Thursday, increasing
the chance for showers and thunderstorms.
Expected to last for three days, the system,
thre National Weather Service says, could bring
one to two inches of rain, with even higher
local rainfall possible in some areas.
The danger of flash flood is greatest in steeply
sloping areas and in narrow canyons, and in
addition to the possibility of flooding, this
system could also trigger mudslides and cause
debris jams in area rivers, creeks and streams. |
