Idaho Labor Department operating |
October 1, 2013 |
Despite the partial shutdown of the federal
government, the Idaho Department of Labor is
operating normally. Unemployment insurance
benefits are being paid, and employment services
being provided throughout the department’s
network of 25 local offices. In addition, workers furloughed from the various federal agencies directly affected by the shutdown are eligible to file for unemployment insurance compensation since these workers are becoming unemployed through no fault of their own. For additional questions, contact an unemployment staff member at (208) 332-3842. Twenty-three of the 25 department local offices are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday. The Wood River office in Bellevue is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and closed Thursday and Friday. The Soda Springs office is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and closed Friday. The location of the local offices is online at http://labor.idaho.gov/directory. |
