Christmas Concert rehearsals start soon

Calling all singers high school age through
seniors! Bonners Ferry Community Choir begins
rehearsals for their annual Christmas concert on
Tuesday October 22 at 7:15 p.m.
Rehearsals will be held at Trinity Lutheran
Church in Bonners Ferry every Tuesday until the
concerts, which will be presented December 20
and 22.
Bonners Ferry Community Choir is an open choir
with no fees or auditions. Each year 60-70
singers from Sandpoint, Bonners Ferry, Creston,
BC, and Troy, Montana, assemble. The concert
series is commonly attended by over 500 people
of all ages. It has become a long standing
tradition of over forty years to welcome the
holiday season.
This year's theme is "We're Not that Far from
Bethlehem." The music is drawn from many ages
and cultures as well as familiar carols. The
choir has been conducted by Vicki Blake Thompson
for 15 years. Accompanist is well known Bonners
Ferry pianist Barb Nelson. This year Rosie
Samter will be featured on viola.
Rosie is a professional musician in Boston and
New York. She grew up in Bonners Ferry and is
well remembered by many here.
