On Saturday, April 5, for one day only, Blue
Lake Resort is selling nearly 100 Cayuga grape
vines from their vineyard to make way for a
commercial produce garden.
The sale, first come, first served, runs from 10
a.m. to 3 p.m., and they'll have a backhoe on
hand to help dig the mature vines, which are $15
each or 10 for $100. Cash only and no early
birds, please!
The White Cayuga wine/juice vines were
organically grown and they're very prolific.
There were some mystery vines snuck in, too, but
all are great wine grapes that do well in the
northwest.
You've probably seen the vineyard off Highway 95
at Blue Lake RV Resort, 242 Blue Lake Road,
Naples. They are selling off half the vineyard
to make room for a vendor who will be planting a
commercial produce garden in the lower half of
the field. They will also have a stand off the
highway at our entrance during the growing
season to sell produce.
The picture of the grapes baskets are the actual
grapes from these vines, and not a stock photo.
