Patriot Awards given to School District adminstrators |

Earlier today, personnel of Boundary County
School District 101 were recognized with the
Patriot Award, given by the U.S. Department of
Defense office of Employer Support of the Guard
and Reserve. Dick Conley, School Superintendent, Melanie Staples, a member of the School Board, and Tim Gering, high school principal, were recognized with the award, which is given to recognize efforts made to support Citizen Warriors of the National Guard through a wide-range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families and granting leaves of absence if needed. The three Patriot Award winners were nominated by Luke Omodt, high school history teacher and National Guardsman. |
