Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony next week |

The Boundary County Chaplain Corps is honored to
announce it is holding a Law Enforcement Officer
Memorial Ceremony to celebrate and honor the
lives the those Idaho Law Enforcement Officers
who have been killed in the line of duty.
Since records starting being maintained in 1791,
over 20,000 police officers have been killed in
the line of duty in the United States. An
officer is killed at a rate of one every 60
hours.
In the State of Idaho, 61 Law Enforcement
Officers have been killed in the line of duty,
including the most recent on May 5, 2015, when
Sergeant Gregory Moore of the Coeur d’Alene
Police Department was shot and killed as he was
investigating a suspicious subject who was
thought to have been burglarizing vehicles.
Moore, a sixteen-year and highly-decorated law
enforcement veteran, leaves behind his wife
LIndy and two children.
Boundary County’s Memorial ceremony for fallen
officers will be held on Thursday, May 14 at
7:00 p.m. at the flag pole just east of the
Boundary County Public Library. Officials from
several North Idaho Law Enforcement agencies
will read the names of the 61 Idaho officers who
gave their lives protecting the community and
defending the freedom and safety of Idahoans.
The public is encouraged to attend and show
their support for our police who put their lives
on the line daily for each of us.
