Beautiful antique aircraft visit Boundary County Airport
July 15, 2015
Boundary County residents were treated to a beautiful display of antique aircraft on Monday, July 13, and again the following day on Tuesday, as members of the Puget Sound Antique Aircraft Club brought their 2015 Pacific Northwest Air Tour to our local airport.

Visitors were welcome at the airport for the event, and many were on hand as the approximately 30 planes flew in and landed. Once the planes were on the ground and secure, everyone was free to wander around the tie-down area and have a look at the airplanes. The aircraft owners / pilots spent time visiting with the onlookers, providing information, and answering many questions. Many of the pilots let some of the children sit inside their planes.

Many different aircraft were represented in the group, including Cessna, Howard, Stearman, Piper, Boeing, and others, including an experimental airplane.

The planes and their owners / pilots spent the night in our area, leaving this morning to continue the tour to Crystal Lakes, Montana, and then to Kalispell, Montana. Next up after Kalispell: Kamiah and Lewiston, Idaho. Prior to arriving in Bonners Ferry, they had also visited Richland, Washington and St. Maries, Idaho.

Just before they headed for the skies to leave Boundary County on Tuesday, a crowd gathered once again to see the aircraft and watch them taxi down the runway and fly on to the east.

We are including several photographs of only a few of the airplanes that were here for the event.
