Bonners Ferry Distinguished Young Women Program seeking volunteers |
November 15, 2015 |
The Committee of the Bonners Ferry Distinguished
Young Women Program is looking for individuals
interested in joining the committee to help with
the upcoming year's program. Distinguished Young
Women (formerly America's Junior Miss) is the
oldest and largest scholarship program for high
school girls in the nation; the Bonners Ferry
program has been in existence for over fifty
years. The program teaches life skills, interview skills, healthy living, group cooperation, and encourages excellence in scholastics. Last year our local program awarded over $15,000 in cash college scholarships—funded almost entirely by community donations. The Committee coordinates many different roles pertaining to all of the program’s judged categories—Fitness, Interview, Scholastics, Talent, and Self Expression—as well as scholarship collection, stage decoration, community service, and more. If you are interested in becoming a member of the committee or would like more information, please call Andrakay Pluid at 208-946-7598 or email bonnersferry@distinguishedyw.org. |
