Mayor Anderson honored for work with KVRI |

Monday's meeting of the Kootenai Valley Resource
Initiative (KVRI) had the usual business and
discussions on best uses of resources in
Boundary County, but also one other important
item on the agenda: recognizing Bonners Ferry
Mayor David Anderson for his work with the
group.
The Mayor "was recognized for his leadership,
dedication, and support to the Kootenai Valley
Resource Initiative for the past eight years,"
said Patty Perry, KVRI Coordinator with the
Kootenai Tribe of Idaho.
Mayor Anderson serves as co-Chair of KVRI along
with fellow co-Chairs Dan Dinning (a Boundary
County Commissioner) and Gary Aitken, Jr.,
(Chair of the Kootenai Tribe of Idaho).
"It has been a pleasure working with Mayor
Anderson regarding the efforts of Kootenai
Valley Resource Initiative," said Dan Dinning.
"For the past eight years he has brought the
city to the table in a manner that is supportive
of the efforts put forth regarding natural
resource issues of the community, and has also
worked to keep the lines of communication
between the County and the City open and
respectful. To accomplish the KVRI efforts, it
takes the willingness and energy to come to the
table and represent not just your own entity,
but the greater interest of the citizens of the
county as well. Mayor Anderson has accomplished
this, and I thank him for his efforts."
