Auto accident near Post Falls claims lives of two Boundary County men, a third is injured |

An automobile accident at approximately 1:00
a.m.this morning (Sunday, June 26) in the Post Falls
area has claimed the lives of two Boundary
County men and injured a third. According to Idaho State Police, Boundary County resident Robert Gust, age 24, was driving a Volkswagen Passat westbound on Interstate 90 near Post Falls at a high rate of speed when he failed to negotiate the curve on the off-ramp at exit 7. His vehicle rolled into the median, crossed over the westbound on-ramp, and came to rest at the bottom an an embankment. Mr. Gust died at the scene. One of his passengers, Christopher J. (CJ) Erickson, age 25, a Boundary County resident who had been working in Florida, was taken to Kootenai Health in Coeur d'Alene, where he died from his injuries. The other passenger, Boundary County resident Colton Telford, age 23, was injured in the accident and was transported to Kootenai Health in Coeur d'Alene. A social media posting by a close friend of Mr. Telford states that he is sore with scrapes and bruises. Only Mr. Telford, the lone survivor of the accident, was wearing a seatbelt in the incident, according to the Idaho State Police. No further information on the accident is available at this time. |
