October 12, 2016 |
Serve Idaho, the Governor’s Commission on
Service and Volunteering, has extended the
deadline to accept nominations for the annual
Brightest Star Awards, a program recognizing
outstanding Idaho volunteers in a variety of
categories.
With all the outstanding volunteers here at the
north end of the state, there should be quite a
few Boundary County nominations to be
considered!
Nominations will be accepted through October 21,
2016 at
ServeIdaho.gov.
Idaho's Brightest Stars celebrates the
outstanding dedication and accomplishments of
Idaho volunteers in the categories; individual,
student aged 19 years and younger, veteran,
senior citizen 55 years and older, business,
organization, and teacher/professor.
Nominees and winners will be recognized at an
awards ceremony in Boise on January 18.
Nominees must be Idaho residents who have
performed volunteer service in 2016. Companies
must conduct business in Idaho to be eligible.
If the company’s headquarters are out of state,
local affiliates must be engaged in local
volunteer activities. Individuals may submit
more than one nomination per category or in
multiple categories.
A Serve Idaho panel will review nominations, and
Idaho Lt. Gov. Brad Little will select the
winners in each category. He will also present
the awards at the ceremony. |
