A Valentines to remember with 'Elvis' | |

Mitchell hails from Spokane, but travels throughout the country to perform for enthusiastic fans. Staff at the Pearl are pleased to have an award-winning artist in their little theater, and Mitchell is preparing an evening to remember, complete with back-up singers and costume, set, and light changes. He has won a number of competitions, including the 2015 Blind Voice in Memphis and the 2016 Georgia Elvis Festival. Mitchell’s audiences appreciate his commitment to an authentic experience. “Just the mannerisms, the charisma, the voice, his moves, takes a lot of study,” he said. He clearly recognizes the importance of honoring the memory of The King: “They are the largest shoes in the world to fill," Mitchell said. "So if you start thinking you’re Elvis, you’re going to fail. It’s out of love and respect and to keep his memory alive.” He takes care of fans and builds a dedicated following. “If you knew Elvis, you knew he was sincere. Only then,” Mitchell told writer John Przbys, Las Vegas Review Journal, “can come the rest of a tribute artist’s arsenal.” In addition to the show, The Pearl Café will feature special Valentine treats with a few Elvis touches. Nora will prepare some of Elvis’s favorites ... including grilled peanut butter and banana sandwiches and banana pudding with Nilla wafers. She will also have crabby cream cheese puff pastry hearts, shrimp cocktail and New England clam chowder. The drink special is a mimosa, and she will have tons of desserts: chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate dipped bacon strip, cheesecake slices with fresh strawberries and cream, heart-shaped decorated sugar cookies, chocolate dipped pretzels, and red-green cake squares. Advance ticket purchases are suggested as many tickets have already sold and the Pearl may have a sell-out crowd. Advance tickets are $16 and $5 students and they're on sale at Mountain Mike’s and Bonners Books, or online at www.thepearltheater.org. Tickets at the door, if available, will be $18. The Pearl Theater is a non-profit organization, dedicated to fostering the performing arts throughout Boundary County.
