EAA expanding, has big plans for spring |
March 10, 2017 |
The local Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA)
is expanding its activities and members are
working hard to get the word out as spring is
finally making a slow appearance and flying
season nears.
The EAA currently provides flight training
scholarships, ground school scholarships, summer
season pancake breakfasts, Young Eagle flights
free to students, and monthly meeting and
educational experiences.
This year, they are also planning the
construction of a kit aircraft, arranging
flights to nearby locations as a group and other
activities.
They encourage anyone interested in aircraft and
flying to join them at their monthly meetings,
held at 6 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each
month in the training room at the Boundary
County Airport, 64602 Highway 2 at Three Mile.
Their next meeting will be held at 6 p.m.
Tuesday, March 14. Airport manager Dave Parker
will give a presentation on safety wire tying.
If you fly, you need to know this to properly
pre-flight your aircraft or even to change the
oil.
The EAA has coordinated with Dave and they have
six other technical programs in the works,
including mountain flying, turbine aircraft,
ADS-B and more.
Other topics of discussion at the meeting will
include the season's upcoming pancake
breakfasts, Young Eagles, the construction of
the kit aircraft, discussion of this year's
family BBQ and more.
