IDL offers fire-line safety class |
March 13, 2017 |
The Idaho Department of Lands is offering a
two-hour fire-line safety class for heavy
equipment operators who are interested in
assisting with wildland firefighting efforts on
IDL protected lands during the 2017 fire season.
The training will meet requirements for working
state IDL fires, but will not meet requirements
for fires on U.S. Forest Service managed federal
lands. The training is free and registration is
not required.
The class will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday,
March 29, at the Kootenai River Inn, 7169 Plaza
Street, Bonners Ferry, and will immediately
follow the 2017 Logger's Survival First Aid and
Safety Class sponsored by the Idaho Logging
Safety Bureau, which begins at 8 a.m.
To find out more about the IDL fire-line safety
class, call Kootenai Valley Fire Warden Ken
Homik at (208) 267-5577. To learn more about the
2017 Logger's Survival First Aid and Safety
Class, call Terry Streeter at (208) 446-4149. |
