Spiritsong hosting auditions for Iceland trip |

Auditions for Spiritsong, the international
touring choir directed by Bonners Ferry local
Vicki Blake Thompson will be held soon.
Spiritsong will be performing in a women's
choral festival in Iceland in June of 2018.
All women singers interested in this tour are
invited to an informational meeting at Mugsy's
Tavern and Grill on Main Street in Bonners Ferry
at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, May 21. Girls 10 to 17
years old are also invited to participate if
traveling with a parent or designated chaperone.
Time slots for auditions will be individually
arranged for new singers at this meeting.

Spiritsong has been invited by festival
conductor Dr. Henry Leck to Iceland to perform.
Iceland is a great destination to exchange with
a different culture in a safe environment
surrounded by the magical beauty of this unique
island country. Dr. Leck is a world renown
conductor of youth choirs and composer of many
published choral works.
Spiritsong will present exchange concerts with
Icelandic choirs and/or performance groups as
well as be singing in the festival choir under
Dr. Leck.
All singers who have not auditioned with
Spiritsong conductor Vicki Blake Thompson in the
past will have an audition/interview prior to
acceptance for this touring choir. Singers must
match pitch well, be willing to memorize
selections and be able to learn simple movement
to some songs.
Men are also welcome to travel with Spiritsong
to assist with set up or tech work, play
percussion or other instruments, or have
additional sightseeing opportunities during the
choir rehearsals.
Spiritsong to Iceland will be limited to no more
than 41 participants.
Iceland will be the sixth international tour for
the Spiritsong choir under the direction of
Vicki Blake Thompson. Since its beginning in
2004, Spiritsong has performed in China,
Ireland, Tanzania, Costa Rica, and Greece. |
