Trump signs North Idaho disaster declaration |

On May 18, President Donald J. Trump signed a
Presidential Disaster Declaration for Boundary
County and seven other northern and
north-central Idaho counties.
The declaration incident period is March 6, 2017
– March 28, 2017, and induces the release of
federal funds to help communities recover from
the flooding, landslide and mudslide damages
that happened within the incident period.
It is estimated that the eight counties exceeded
$9.6 million in damages.
The federal funding being issued will be
utilized to repair disaster-damaged public
infrastructures. This funding can also be
utilized for mitigation efforts to prevent or
reduce long-term risk to life and property
within the eight counties. These funds do not
cover private property. |
