4-H Friday Friends plan busy summer! |
June 2, 2017 |
The University of Idaho Extension Office and
Boundary County 4-H is thrilled to announce the
continuation of their 4-H Friday Friends program
throughout the summer of 2017! For the past 10 years, 4-H Friday Friends has taken place on Fridays at the middle school during the school year. Our after school program offers a safe and educational environment for children grades kindergarten through sixth. Participants learn about math, science, history, arts and crafts, and community service through games, projects, special guest speakers, and the occasional field trip. The summer program will be run much the same way with the exception of the use of the middle school. The summer schedule will consist of activities at the fairgrounds, the Kootenai Wildlife Refuge, and Snow Creek Pond. A complete schedule of our activities is available on their Facebook page, 4-H Friday Friends, at the extension office and at the elementary school offices. The summer programming will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Friday from June 16 until August 11. Cost is $12 per child each Friday, however a sliding fee scale is available. Here's a quick look at all that's on tap! * June 16: Paper Airplane Contest, Boundary County Fairgrounds playground. Students will have the day to build, decorate, test, and rebuild if necessary their own paper airplanes before the final contest at the end of the day to see which airplane flies the farthest. * June 23: Tie-Dye Party, Boundary County Fairgrounds playground.
