Brown tabs to protect trees |
June 26, 2017 |
Have you seen these packets attached to trees
and wondered what they do?
Idaho Department of Lands, Forest Health
Protection and volunteers came together recently
to staple anti-aggregation pheromone bubble
capsules, known as MCH, onto trees on nearly
1,000 acres of Idaho State land.
The pheromone sends a chemical message telling
beetles to stay away from the trees.
The acres protected were impacted by the 2015
fires near Kamiah, Idaho. |
