Welcome back ... it's Homecoming already! |

BFHS is off to the races this school year, and
we are in the full swing of Homecoming already!
It is
awesome to have the staff and growing student
population back in our building for the school
year. The
first four weeks have flown by, and the
all-around vibe in our building is positive.
With a large ninth grade class and more than a
handful of new staff members entering the
building, there are many new faces and names to
try and remember. New additions and familiar
faces are working together to create a climate
of Badger Awesome. Our staff has accepted the
challenge of raising the academic and
behavioral bar at BFHS, and our students have
continued to impress with their efforts in
meeting the
new standard.
We continue to promote our Advanced
Opportunities offerings and our Career Technical
Education (CTE) programs to students that are
looking to receive a head start on college or
certifications before entering the job field
after graduation.
We will continue to offer exposure and
informational events to our students and parents
for post-graduation opportunities through our
Gear Up and Advanced Opportunities Programs. On
October 13, students can attend the NIC Roadshow
at Sandpoint High School.
Permission slips are with vocational teachers
and in the office. On October 11, seniors can
take a tour of NIC, the new CTE building, and
the Aerospace building. Permission slips will be
in the office and with Mrs. Atkins. On November
2, Senior Parent Information Night will be held
at the school. Come hear experts discuss college
admissions, financial aid, ACT/SAT testing, the
senior project and much more.
College and military reps will also be present.
On November 6 and 9, we have FAFSA Frenzy and
College Application Week, where seniors will be
applying to colleges. Any in-state applications
are free and our FAFSA nights will be from 4:30
to 7 p.m. in the library.
Any students interested in taking dual credit
courses in the spring of 2018 should contact
Mrs. Mackey in the high school counseling
office. Also, BFHS has an all call for
businesses interested in participating in the
BFHS Career Fair, happening in late winter or
early spring (most likely mid-February).
BFHS students have responded outside of the
classroom as well.
We are currently approaching 200 students that
are involved in Athletics and Activities for the
fall semester. Kudos to our Athletic Director
Conrad Garner and the hardworking coaches and
advisors we have in those extra and
co-curricular offerings. Your efforts are paying
off; keep up the great work.
