Diabetic Education Support Group helping for 20
years |
September 27, 2017 |
If you have been diagnosed with diabetes or
pre-diabetes, it’s important to have support
from other people with the disease. The Boundary
County Diabetic Education Support Group has been
helping this community through networking and
education for 20 years.
The more individuals know about the disease, the
better they are able to manage their diabetes
and prevent complications. The advantage of
networking with other diabetics is that you can
learn about health related issues and how it can
affect your care.
Many topics are covered including nutrition,
exercise, reading labels, dental, ideas and
suggestions from the group members.
Anyone is welcome to join the group, including
family members and caregivers. The group is
moderated by Edna Eby, RD, LD, who is a
dietitian at Boundary Community Hospital.
Meetings are on the second Wednesday of each
month September through May at 1 p.m. in the
Panhandle Health Meeting Room, 7402 Caribou
Street, Bonners Ferry. Call (208) 267-3141
extension 4235 for more information. |
