Law enforcement personnel are continuing the
search for a man believed to have a nation-wide
no-bond felony warrant for his arrest after the
individual bailed out of a vehicle sought by
Idaho State Police at about 4 p.m. today on the
North Hill and has so far evaded those searching
the area around the Boundary County Landfill. The man, who has not yet been positively identified, is described as being about 26-years-old, of medium build with a slight beard, wearing blue jeans, light colored shoes, a red t-shirt with a dark long sleeve shirt underneath. The individual is believed at this time to be moving through the woods east toward Highway 95. Those who live on the North Hill, from the Kootenai River north to Moon Shadow Road, are advised to remove your keys from all vehicles and lock the doors, and to keep the doors and windows to your home locked. If you see anyone fitting this description, do not attempt to capture him but call the sheriff's office, (208) 267-3151. extension 0 -- if you hear anyone trying to gain entry into a vehicle or your home, call 911. Law enforcement believes this individual may try to hitch a ride or commandeer a vehicle if he gets the opportunity. Motorists traveling in the area from the Kootenai River bridge north to Three Mile are advised not to stop for anyone, and if you do need to pull over, to lock the doors on your rig. Updates on this incident as they happen are being posted on our Facebook page. The individual who was the subject of a search on the North Hill this evening is in custody after he was reported entering the Three Mile Store. He fled the store west across Highway 95 as officers approached, but was caught and taken into custody at about 8:18 p.m. without incident. |
