Boundary Ambulance hosted its annual members
meeting on Saturday, December 2. During the
meeting, Chief Jeff Lindsey announced the 2017
Volunteers of the Year as well as the 2017
Paramedic of the Year.
Voting was split evenly between two members for
Volunteer of the Year, so both advanced EMT Pam
Hamilton and driver/operator Mike Kralik win the
honor.

“Both Pam and Mike are very large contributors
of time and talent to our agency. Many lives are
owed to both of these fine people” Lindsey said.
“Mike drives our paramedic crews on transfers to
other out-of-the-area hospitals, some of them
with critically ill and injured patients at all
hours of the day and night and never complains.
He is always ready and available to help, which
is critical in our small rural community, when a
patient needs to go to a larger hospital for
lifesaving treatment."
“Pam puts in the most time of any volunteer," he
continued. "She is on shift four, sometimes five
days a week, working alongside the fulltime
paramedics, running calls as well as helping out
in any way she can. Pam is the one that the
captains call when they need to cover a shift,
because she will always be there. I can’t say
enough about what she contributes to our
agency.”
Paramedic of the Year honors went to
Captain/Paramedic Kelly Halleman.
“Captain Halleman is in charge of training and
he brings his outgoing personality to this
position, which works well with our staff
members,” Lindsey said. “Kelly does a great job
in working with other partner agencies as well
as going above and beyond when dealing with our
patients who may need additional help.”
In addition to Captain Halleman’s role as
training officer, he also serves as the rescue
coordinator and as a community paramedic.
“We are very fortunate to have these dedicated
members serving our community,” Lindsey said.
In respecting Pam's wish, Chief Lindsey did not
submit a photo of her to go with this article. |
