A rocket stage that
has been orbiting earth for the past six days is
being followed closely as it now falls from its
orbit and is in an uncontrolled reentry to
earth. This brief report is an UPDATE from the
more detailed story we posted last night on this
event.
The latest
information available at the time of this
posting (this is posted at approximately 7:45 am on Saturday, July
30, 2022) comes from the Center for Orbital and
Reentry Debris Studies (CORDS), a division of
The Aerospace Corporation. See the graphic chart
below and the text following the graphic for the
current estimates on where reentry will
potentially occur.
(Story continues
below this graphic. For a larger picture
of this graphic,

At this time,
according to the most recent data provided by
CORDS, the falling rocket stage could reenter at
any point along the yellow or blue waving lines
drawn on this graphic map of the world. The
orange circle with the yellow text attached to
it simply marks the center spot of this
predicted reentry pathway. Note that the dark /
light areas of the map with the white line
border show what parts of the earth will be in
daylight or nighttime at the projected time of
reentry.
In this most recent
update (we are posting this update at
approximately 7:45 am on Saturday, July 30,
2022) CORDS has narrowed their
projected reentry
time for the falling rocket as 10:24 am today,
Saturday, July 30, Boundary
County time, plus or minus 1 hour. Please note
that as the reentry of the rocket draws closer,
the prediction will become more refined and more
accurate. At this moment, the experts at The
Aerospace Corporation are saying the rocket will
reenter within the next two to four
hours. Note these projections
indicate it is unlikely the rocket will reenter
over the Pacific Northwest area, and unlikely
that falling debris will occur in the Pacific
Northwest, though it is anticipated that there
will be tons of falling debris in the area of
reentry, when that occurs.
For more
detail on questions such as where and when the
reentry will occur, information on falling space
debris, and where this rocket came from and why
it is falling, please see the article posted on
NewsBF last night: "That rocket you’ve heard
about, in uncontrolled reentry back to earth."
