New Private Pilot Barry Wilson recently received a full scholarship to the United States Air Force Academy.

Wilson is a Sandpoint High School Senior who received his flight training from Northern Air in Bonners Ferry. He was also accepted into the U.S. Naval Academy, however, he has chosen to enroll in the Air Force Academy, where he will continue in aviation.

Wilson was the recipient of a scholarship from the Shep-Rock foundation, which assisted with his post-solo flight training expenses.

Barry worked hard to get his pilot certification completed during his spring break 2011 on schedule; which he did, despite a wet spring.

Barry’s goal is to fly the Space Shuttle for NASA. Congratulations, Barry!
