Bonnell to teach history at NIC |

Beginning with the Spring 2017 semester, Paul
Bonnell, Bonners Ferry, will teach
History 112-60, U.S. History After 1876, at
North Idaho College. Paul has taught several
semesters for North Idaho College over the past
decade in both dual-credit and adjunct
capacities.
Born in Vietnam, Paul grew up in Malaysia, the
Philippines, and North Carolina before moving to
Bonners Ferry.
He attended Bryan College for his undergraduate
work and Appalachian State University for a
master's degree in history. At Appalachian State
he also worked as an editorial assistant for
Albion: A Quarterly Journal of British Studies.
Recently, he has taken graduate courses in
European history and Southeast Asian history and
culture at American Public University.
In Boundary County, Paul has worked construction
and taught at the Praise Church School, Rocky
Mountain Academy, and Bonners Ferry High School.
He currently teaches Eighth Grade English,
Language Arts at Boundary County Middle School,
where he also coaches cross country and track.
He enjoys spending time with his family, hiking,
climbing, skiing, running, playing music,
writing, and reading.
Paul appreciates studying the complex layers and
questions of history, especially when approached
in a multi-disciplinary way. He currently is
intrigued by biopolitics, international
adoption, the Vietnamese diaspora, and
storytelling.
He looks forward to exploring U.S. history with
students this semester at North Idaho College. |
