Merrill Marcy and Betty Patterson were married
March 30, 1947, in Naples, Idaho. Friends and
family are invited to attend an open house in
celebration of their 70th wedding anniversary at
the Chic-N-Chop Restaurant in Bonners Ferry
between 1 and 3 p.m. Saturday, April 1.
Bring no gifts, but be prepared to share
stories of their many years together!
They were both raised in Boundary County and
graduated from Bonners Ferry High School.
They lived in Naples until 1964, when the
Highway 95 relocation forced a move. They packed
up the entire house and moved it over the
Moravia Hill to the current location at Moravia.
Merrill worked 40 years for the Great Northern
Railroad (now Burlington Northern-Santa Fe).
Betty worked at Safeway, Anthony's, Bank of
Idaho and Dinning Realty.
They raised three children – Marla, Dale and
Midge.
After retirement Merrill has stayed busy raising
horses, mules and donkeys. Betty stayed busy
caring for grandchildren and raising flowers.
They continue to live on the farm and work in
their vegetable and flower gardens. They enjoy
many family get-togethers with children, their
spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. |
