Mead shoots perfect 400 | ||
February 7, 2012 | ||
Now imagine hitting that little dot with a .22 caliber rifle.
Now imagine hitting it 40 times from four different positions; prone, sitting, kneeling and standing. Hard for you to imagine?
It is difficult even for those who meet weekly at the Kootenai Valley Rifle Club. However, for Walker Mead, this image has become reality. On Wednesday, February 2,
He has played with perfection in the past by shooting a few 399s, but that 400 had eluded him. No longer can that be said.
He continued to shoot as an
adult and has placed as high as eighth
nationally in the civilian class.
He has
also been Washington State Champion in four
position shooting. We invite you to join the Kootenai Valley Rifle Club. Junior shooters meet on Monday or Thursday evenings, senior shooters on Wednesday.
If you never have tried the sport of competitive shooting, come on down and we will show you how it is done. If you did it in the past and would like the opportunity to dust off the old skills, we will help you there too! Contact club President Tom Daniel, (208) 267-5274 for more information. |
