Happy birthday, Jesse Woods!
|
April 19, 2013 |
Senior Jesse Woods took the mound for the very
first time in his high school career and came
away with a 14-3 win over the Newport Grizzlies.
The game was shortened to five innings due to
the 10 run rule.
Woods pitched four effective innings yielding
only three hits while striking out three on his
birthday! Mike Clarkson came in relief in the
bottom of the fifth retiring the first three
batters in order.
Woods led the team with two hits including a two
run double in the fourth inning. Mike Clarkson
and Cade Umphenhour hit doubles in the game
while Garrett Skeen and Dylan Unruh each hit
singles. Freshman Tristan Howell also got his
very first hit in high school.
The win improves the Badger baseball team’s
record to 7–8 overall and 1–3 in league as they
head into a double header this Saturday against
Kellogg. |
