The Badgers fought hard against Priest River on
Tuesday, but fell to this year's IML champs.
They play tonight in a loser out match against
Kellogg. "We came out flat, but didn't give up and came back in sets three and four with a vengeance and beat them handily," said coach Janis Tucker, who was named the Intermountain League's Volleyball Coach of the Year. "We found ourselves down 8-11 and came back to a 14-12 only to lose 14-16." Priest River defeated Bonners Ferry 25-16, 25-14, 15-25, 22-25, 16-14 Stat leaders for the Badgers; Kills- Jasmine Hill, 13 Assists- Emma Kelly, 36 Aces- McKenzie MacDonald, 3 Digs- Malorie Stippich, 21 Blocks- Amanda Wilson, 3 Bonners Ferry defeated Timberlake Wednesday in three sets; 25-22, 25-21, 25-22 "Once again we played a bit flat," Tucker said, "but we kept ahead of Timberlake the entire match." Stat leaders: Kills- McKenzie MacDonald 6, Desirae Minor 6, Jasmine Hill 6 Assists Emma Kelly 25 Aces Camille Awbrey 3 Digs- Malorie Stippich 14 Blocks- Camille Awbrey 3, Jasmine Hill 3 Priest River went on to win the championship against Kellogg in a 3-0 decision. Desirae Minor and McKenzie MacDonald were both named to this year's All IML Team. The Lady Badgers play Kellogg again tonight for the play-in berth at 6 p.m. in Rathdrum. Loser out leaves empty handed and winner advances to McCall for a play-in game on Saturday afternoon with a team from Southern Idaho. |
